WELCOME TO THE YANKOThe Yanko is a family-owned farming enterprise located 25 km north of Jerilderie on the Kidman Way.
Since being purchased by Ian and Margaret Cameron in 1976, the property has grown into a highly regarded Merino and Angus operation, built on generations of dedication, careful stewardship, and a passion for producing quality livestock.

Sheep, Cattle &
Care for the Land
LIVESTOCKMerino sheep are the primary focus of the operation, with both stud and commercial flocks. The family also runs Angus cattle, continuing their commitment to quality breeding, sustainable farming practices, and the long-term care of the land.
Four Generations
at The Yanko
ABOUTToday, The Yanko is owned by Hugh and Heather Cameron and their son, Ian Cameron, who manages the property and serves as Stud Master. Ian married Theresa in 2025, and their daughter, Rose, born 2026 is the fourth generation of the Cameron family at The Yanko.
In 2014, the Hugh and Heather Cameron purchased Koorana, a property at Euroa, to run Angus cattle and grow fodder. In 2021, Woodside, adjoining The Yanko, was also acquired, increasing the total size of the operation to 16,000 hectares.
